Our Comprehensive Hearing Services

We have comprehensive testing and treatment plans to help restore your hearing and enjoy the sounds you love. We offer complimentary hearing screenings to determine if you have hearing loss and whether more testing is necessary. Our practice has access to discount programs which we can use to help you find the best price for new hearing aid purchases, whether you’re looking for a value option or to upgrade into a premium product. We also can service, clean and reprogram almost all makes and models of hearing aids—even over-the-counter models.

Our Testing Services:

Before any test, we will complete an exam of your ears.
We can provide a complimentary hearing screening and determine if further testing is necessary.
We will provide a full hearing evaluation that will detail your hearing status and determine if any attention from other medical providers is necessary.
If you already have hearing aids, we can test them to ensure they work efficiently.

Our Treatment Services:

We will review your options based on your preferences and hearing test results.
If you need to purchase hearing aids, we can make a recommendation— based on your input— and then find the best value based on your insurance and benefits.
We can care for and maintain your current hearing aids, including a check of their settings to make sure they are as beneficial as possible.
We will clean and check all makes and models of hearing devices regardless of their age—even over-the-counter models!
We will suggest accessories that work with your hearing aid to help in certain situations—sometimes these additions can be more helpful than new hearing aids can.
We will counsel you in “best practice” communication habits which will help your hearing aids improve your hearing as much as possible.

About Dr. Heather Eck

Dr. Heather Eck has over 25 years’ experience. She has worked at Willow Valley since 2011 and was instrumental in the development of the audiology program. She has found that an educated patient is the most satisfied patient, especially when it comes to what hearing aids can and cannot do. Her background in working for a private practice hearing aid center as well as for otolaryngologists has equipped her for our staff’s focus on patient-centered service.

About Dr. Kerry Hermann

Dr. Herrmann brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of nearly 17 years in the audiology field working primarily for otolaryngologists. She has a strong background in diagnostic testing and hearing aid fittings, maintenance, and repairs, as well as practice management.

I would encourage anyone who is thinking about getting hearing aids to do so. Like everything in life, perspective is paramount. If you are looking for them to replicate perfect hearing, then save your money. However, if you have a desire to enhance your own quality of life, and an understanding that hearing aids are a treatment for hearing loss and not a cure, then I think you will be delighted with the decision.

Don’t think of the need for hearing aids as a disability. Embrace them as a gift of modern technology and a gift to your loved ones. Don’t try them half way. Be committed to wearing them at home and in public. The more you get used to how they sound and feel, the more they can become your new normal.

For the first time I have a setting that cuts down on background noise while allowing me to hear nearby conversations. Recently I was visiting with a couple in the Overlook Café. There was a social event going on in the atrium that is open to the Overlook at the same time. As the background noise increased, I remembered the newest hearing aids have an 'Edge' setting and sure enough, with that setting, the background noise diminished, and I was able to carry on the conversation.
